Fireworks in July: three great events to celebrate with pyrotechnics this summer

Fireworks fans don’t usually need an excuse to plan jaw-dropping pyrotechnic displays, but it’s good to have one anyway. If you love a party and you agree that no celebration is complete without an epic fireworks display, there’s good news. This summer, and July in particular, is packed with special events deserving of a good old knees-up and an excuse to order some fabulous fireworks.

Let’s take a look at a few of the best events that are fast approaching this summer, and how you can make the most of each occasion:

U.S. Independence Day – 4th July

If you have friends from the U.S. or you simply can’t get enough of all things American – from the food to the football – why not hold your own 4th July fireworks party? This is fast becoming a popular trend in the UK, mainly because we Brits will jump at any excuse to have a celebration. This year’s Independence Day unfortunately falls on a Monday, but if you don’t think you can get away with taking the day off work, you could always move your party forward to the weekend before. Order yourself in some U.S. themed drinks and snacks, perhaps have a U.S-style BBQ, plan an epic red, white and blue fireworks display and really make an occasion of it!

Eid – 6th July

The religious festival of Eid al-Fitr, an event in which followers of the Muslim faith mark the end of the Ramadan holy month of fasting, next falls on 6th July. After 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting, Eid is a time for community celebration. Families and communities often gather to hold Eid parties, many of which simply wouldn’t be complete without a spectacular fireworks display.  Surrounded by family, food and fireworks, this summer’s Eid festival is bound to be one to remember.

Euro 2016 final – 10th July

Football fans who have been keenly following the tournament so far will be well aware that the final of the UEFA Euro 2016 football championship is scheduled to be held in Paris on 10th July, at the majestic Stade de France. Now, we don’t want to jinx it, but it could be a good idea to get some fireworks in just in case your team – be it England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or perhaps another European team – happen to make it that far.

Even if they don’t, throw a party anyway and cheer yourself up with some amazing fireworks. You could choose fireworks in the competing teams’ colours, and ask your mates to bring food associated with each country. The final is scheduled for a Sunday, which is not the ideal day to throw a fireworks party, but as long as you let your neighbours know (why not invite them along) and don’t start your display too late, you shouldn’t ruffle too many feathers. It is the Euros, after all!
